Makroøkonomi tegnet og forklart

For oss som sliter litt med å følge den makroøkonomisk debatten om stimulanser, rentesetting, Keynes og monetarisme har Steve Waldman skrevet en veldig god bloggpost hvor han tegner og forklarer. Noen ligninger og modeller er med, men intuisjonen får man med seg gjennom figurene hans. Som han sier i innledningen:

I’ve been trying to understand the ways in which these theories are alike and different, and organize my own thinking about how to evaluate different policy proposals. I’m a pretty visual thinker, but for a variety of reasons, I’ve never found the most common ways to diagram Keynesian ideas — IS/LM and AS/AD — especially helpful. In my mind, I found myself falling back on Econ 101 style supply and demand graphs, where the commodity of interest, whose “price” and quantity is to be determined, is nominal expenditure. I’m sure this is not a novel approach, but I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of it. Perhaps you won’t find it entirely useless.
